Vista Linda ApartmentsI recently stayed in the Vista Linda Apartments on my last trip to Costa Rica because it was recommended to me by a friend who is a frequent visitor to Costa Rica.

The advantage of staying at these apartments is that you can stay there for a day at a time, a month at a time or a year at a time.

If you intend on staying in Costa Rica for a month, an aparthotel is ideal because you are actually renting an apartment instead of spending money every night on a hotel room.

The owner/manager Carlos was kind enough to pick me up from the airport upon my arrival to Costa Rica and he was very friendly and courteous.

As I stepped onto the grounds of the aparthotel, I had the feeling of stepping into a tropical beach setting.  The atmosphere was very relaxed and exactly what I had been looking for.

I was given one of the apartments in the back which unfortunately was next to the highway.  It was a problem on for my first couple of nights getting used to the noise.

However, once I got used to the noise, everything was perfect.

I did get the feeling while I was there that Carlos, the owner bias towards older people as he wants his aparthotel to be a nice and quiet place and younger and rowdy people do not get the same treatment.

The area the hotel is in is called, Calle Blancos which is a nice little area just a few minutes away from San Jose that is made up of mostly houses and a few stores in Costa Rica.

Speaking of discounts, Carlos is a miser when it comes to money but if you intend on staying for an extended period of time, he can be talked into giving you a hotel discount when he is in a good mood.

Overall, I give this place a 4 out of 5
