Last night I was invited to eat Mexican food at the Pink Taco in Alajuela.
To be honest, going to the Pink Taco was not my first choice as the Mexican food in Costa Rica that I have tried has always left me disappointed but since my friend was buying, I decided to give it a shot.
We arrived around 6pm and the restaurant was busy which is usually a good sign…
We were seated by this great looking waitress/hostess who had a great smile, was well dressed and polite.
Even though the restaurant did not have the feel of the usual Mexican restaurant with Mexican artwork or decoration it was clean and gave a good vibe about the food as the people around us certainly seemed to be enjoying their food.
Perusing through the menu, I decided to go for the burrito with a side of refried beans and when the food came to the table and I bit into the burrito, I was amazed at how good this Chihuahua size burrito tasted!
On the plus side, this restaurant offers on the table Tapatio hot sauce which is a plus as it’s probably the best Mexican hot sauce on the market!
As I was enjoying my burrito, Phil, one of the owners of the restaurant (Who happens to be part Mexican) dropped by to make sure I was enjoying the food and to see if I needed anything. Phil is a really nice guy I must say and I could tell that he really cares about the restaurant and his clients.
In my book, that is a winning combination for a successful restaurant.
As I left the restaurant, I felt full, satisfied and I had finally found a Mexican restaurant in Costa Rica that I could come back to.
